Kibi Makibi
was a Japanese scholar and noble during the Nara period. Also known as Kibi Daijin ("Minister Kibi"). Born in Bitchu Province (present-day Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture) as Shimotsumichi Asomi, he came from a line of local elites.
