| The massive solar storms currently bombarding the earth with charged particales (@ 4 million mph!) are the largest in over five years, driven by a double solar flare. This phenomenon could bring the beauty of the Aurora Borealis to places it's rarely seen early this morning and heading-on-in to Thursday night... What we have is the Sun belching-out a cloud of gas (twice) who's strong electrical charges will temporarily warp the Earth's own magnetic field as it gets here... which is now. They also play havoc with elements like Nitrogen in our upper-atmosphere, and thus the auroras are produced. But as we wait for... |

| Today I was in Costco. As I entered the papergoods area a demonstration woman approached me about a sale on Northern triple ply quilted bathroom tissue. It's my brand and I strongly support a soft 3 ply, but that's not my point. The demonstration woman went on to show me on the packaging that Georgia Pacific donates money to the Susan G Komen foundation. I stopped in my tracks and said " I wish you hadn't told me that. | NORAD and the U.S. Northern Command will cut 79 positions as part of Defense Secretary Robert Gates' cost-savings initiative to improve efficiency that he issued late last year. Commanders said 40 of the positions will be military and 39 will be civilian. Offices most directly affected include chaplains, history, surgeon general and control systems. Most of the people who lose their jobs will be transferred to other posts in the military, and in some cases the military will help individuals find new employment, a NORAD spokesman told Fox News. And some of the positions, which are currently vacant, simply will... |

Judging from comments on the blaze from readers in several leading Arab media outlets and websites, a majority believe that God is punishing Israel for occupying Arab lands and killing Palestinians, especially during Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip. | SAIPAN, Northern Marianas A volcanic eruption near the Pacific's Northern Mariana Islands shot clouds of ash and vapor nearly eight miles into the sky, federal scientists said. The eruption occurred early Saturday and appeared to come from an underwater volcano off Sarigan, a sparsely inhabited island about 100 miles north of the U.S. commonwealth's main island of Saipan. The Northern Marianas are about 3,800 miles southwest of Hawaii. USGS volcanologist Game McGimsey said Sunday that scientists are still trying to pinpoint the source but evidence is pointing to an underwater mountain. "People on the island (Sarigan) heard a loud... |

| "They'll take my Ultra Soft Charmin only when they pry it from my cold, dead, aloe-smelling hands." Highly doubtful it will come to that. Please, sit. We're talking about toilet paper. Charlton Heston's famous vow was of guns. The issue over tissue in the bathroom the really super-soft stuff is more like the fight about the big SUVs loved by many Americans. Anti-green, environmentalists say. Politically incorrect. Why should Americans use luxurious toilet paper made from old-growth trees when much of the world gets by with a far more basic and often recycled product? Why should we flush... |

A source in the Hadera Fire Services told News1 that due to the fact that numerous fires broke out in a relatively limited area, the working assumption is that they were deliberately set. We still do not know how the fires were set and we do not have details about the arsonist or arsonists, he said. |

| Two news reports point to the clear and present danger the deteriorating situation in Mexico poses to our nation and our citizens. The first article, "U.S. Plans Border Surge Against Any Drug Wars" appears in today's edition of the New York Times, while the second article, "Obama faces Mexican drug war" was published in the Washington Times last week, on January 2nd. In my judgement, the deteriorating situation in Mexico can be traced back to the relative ease with which the drug cartels were able to move people and narcotics into the United States because our nation's "leaders" have been... |

All these questions weigh on Turkey's leaders, who have enough on their hands without embarking on a foreign military adventure. Turkey is caught up in an internal rift between the Islamic-rooted government and the military-backed, secular establishment, less... |
